A Spider-y cover!
Verily, all their rowdy friends have come over tonight. Not the most realistic dialogue. What, the Thing couldn’t talk the rest of the FF into coming? Well, they know Luke wouldn’t be held in the Tower, so he’s probably on the helicarrier. so Strange and Voodoo astral project on up there to scope it out and confirm Luke is alive. Now, back in my day, SHIELD had a small army of psychics would probably would have known about this, but who knows with HAMMER? The mages inform everyone Luke is stable, but not out of the woods. Strange even hit him with a very silly-sounding healing spell to help out while they were up there. Iron Fist is pretty sure Norman will know they’d been there, tho, not because of psychics, but because of a technology he’s pretty sure Tony Stark had to detect magical incursions. Ok, sure. Then Bucky tells everyone to suit up despite them all being in their suits.
Meanwhile, on the helicarrier, despite being told some ghosts infiltrated the ship, when Osborn gets word that Camp Hammond is under attack, he falls for the whole thing and deploys his Avengers. Victoria Hand has HAMMER goons moving Cage to another location per Osborn’s instructions, but…
Hand and goons bust onto the flight deck in time to catch the heroes loading Cage onto a helicopter. Iron Fist iron fists the deck, shattering it and severely damaging the ship as Hand gives the order to fire and the helicopter takes off. Valkyrie retrieves him on her flying horse and the good guys are clear.
They put a thingie in there! What is it? A bomb? A tracker? Both? Neither? I don’t really remember. But we’ll find out as this story comes to a close next issue.
