You’d be amazed how many typos I crammed into the title of this post. Maybe I’m doing this too late tonight. But I’m doing it! Are the Avengers finally gonna fight the Avengers after somehow avoiding it for 8 months? Look at the pizzazz on that cover! Well, it turns out Mockingbird is still standing. She has no powers, so the “genetic disruptor” didn’t faze her. The fact that Bucky and Hawkeye also have no powers and are currently incapacitated does not come up. I mean, that’s… that’s something. Are we saying having a metal arm and/or hearing aids is a superpower? Mockingbird’s new suit is good, tho, I failed to mention that last post. A big upgrade.

How does a “genetic disruptor” do anything to your metal arm???

“Why can’t Clint get up? Is it because Bendis wanted this to be a real showcase for me so he had to go down, even if it didn’t make sense?” Great stuff from Immonen, tho. Cracking! I can’t believe I said “pizzazz” and then Bendis did, too, what a night. Well, that’s the Wrecking Crew rolling up, and they’re way more than Bobbi can handle, but she won’t give up, so she dashes right at them. Suddenly, Thunderball trips and takes most of the team with him, as Spider-Man has dragged himself to his feet and webbed one of Thundy’s feet to the ground. he tries to web the crowbar out of Wrecker’s hand (How’d he get that back if Luke Cage has it, by the way?), but that doesn’t work, and Wrecker swats Mockingbird away.

“Didn’t Cage take your crowbar? Sometime around the 2nd arc of this series? And then he stashed it in the Avengers Tower, and then you kept using it every time you showed up as part of the Hood’s gang, and then he went back to Avengers Tower and got it, and now you somehow have it again?” Well, Cage is being tortured by Wrecker, so Hawkeye decides to get up and fight like he should’ve been the whole time, but is also swatted by Wrecker, who says they weren’t even after these Avengers, they were just icing. And then…

Hey, where did Iron Fist go? Is he still on the team? Harrow’s impossible machine makes Sentry revert to a very confused Bob. Even the Wrecking Crew didn’t expect that, and they’re feeling pretty good about all this, but then…

It’s no surprise Immonen is going to become Marvel’s entire house style soon. Look at that.

Harrow proceeds with the blackmail, and also seems to imply that all the Hood stuff last issue took place before his defeat in the previous arc of New Avengers. Ok? So Harrow’s trying to negotiate with Osborn, who refuses to believe the Hood isn’t involved somehow. But he’s doing this…

The Norn Stones, long time Thor McGuffin, never called “the stones of Norn” til this moment. Why is Robbins still wearing “the hood” if it was possessed by a demon, which turned out to be Dormammu in a retcon as unsatisfying as it is ridiculous? He wore the hood because it gave him powers. Now it doesn’t. Is he that attached to the name? Well, now he’ll have totally different powers. I think. Or just use the Norn Stones to be exactly the same, I don’t know, you would not believe how much “the Hood” content there is left here. Back in New York, Harrow is telling Osborn he wants the same deal the Hood has, and when Osborn says no, Harrow drops all the Dark Avengers out of the sky.

Lame Squad is here! Too many C-listers to even name! Bendis’ Norman Osborn should be used to being incapacitated in a fight, it’s like all he does. Tune in next time for more of this absolutely outrageous McGuffin. Tony Stark had this the whole time and never used it? Did he only make one? This is absurd!
