This month, we open on Peter’s class having to turn in their weird baby project. We see another “couple” finishing their demonstration, and then Peter & Kitty are called on. Various unhappy glances are exchanged between them and MJ as they are reminded this is “a big part of your grade.”

Uh-oh.

Peter covering the fake baby’s ears slightly off panel down there is so good. Immonen’s not even drawing attention to it. Then we see the kids having to talk to a counselor about Harry and “all this Spider-Man nonsense,” and we see Flash is now very defensive about people thinking he’s Spider-Man, which is pretty funny. The counselor isn’t getting anywhere with the kids, and Flash is busy spreading a rumor that Mr. Lutz is Spider-Man to try to get some heat off him.

Some intro for Ultimate Ned Leeds! Getting humiliated by his alternate reality wife, no less. Peter follows his Spider Sense around the office until he finds himself eavesdropping on Omega Red having let himself into JJJ’s office. He doesn’t like what the Bugle wrote about him last time he showed up (USM 86), and JJJ has absolutely no idea what he’s talking about.

Omega Red slings Spider-Man out into the newsroom, then comes stalking after him. But our guy has hidden under a desk, and then throws an entire desk into Omega Red’s head.

It’s the traditional palette cleanser one-off between big crazy stories. I have to admit, I wouldn’t mind more of these, but I guess I’m just an old man. It wasn’t super important, but it was fun.
