Weird how the creative team stabilized after the clone story. No problem keeping everyone in place now. Well, this month, Matt Murdock has just won a case in court when his superhearing picks up a news item about what just happened last issue. Then…

Oh, you just know this isn’t going to go well.

Well. That was prrrretty wild. Ultimate Kingpin hasn’t been able to get much traction since Spider-Man’s first win against him. His schemes always seemed halfhearted or easily countered. Now he’s really back. Hey, is all that about DD true? It’s the Ultimate U, it could be! But the next page is DD smashing into Kingpin’s office. He looks at some clues as only he can, and then calls Dr. Strange. He teleports in, and DD is sure Spider-Man, Kingpin and Moon Knight were here, and he wants to know if Strange can magically show them what happened. He does, except DD can’t see it, but that doesn’t get them to the dark room where it all went down, so we follow them through the building, working their way to it. Honestly, I don’t think we needed all this, this is taking up a lot of pages to get us to something we already know. They eventually learn most of what happened. Strange thinks Spidey ratted Moon Knight out, but DD doesn’t buy it. DD says they need to get the team together, and he’s going to Queens to look for Spider-Man. This has been 7 of our 20 pages spent backtracking something that we already saw. Not ideal.

Oof. Come on, Bendis. Oof.

Well, then. It’s all going crazy just in time for Bagley’s swan song. How will it play out? Will it be a worthy note to exit on? We’ll see!
