This month, Chris Bachalo slips even further off schedule, illustrating less than half the issue while still getting top billing over Rob Disalvo due to being more famous, which is not… great. The recap page remains Venom’s ridiculous diary.
Venom lets us know he’s been continuing to fuel the gang war, watching JJJ’s approval ratings tank, but now the DB! is calling him JJJ’s pet. Which has led him to go over there and throw up the squirrel he ate last issue on Dexter Bennett’s desk after hours. People paid money to read this. Venom says he wishes he could’ve been there for Bennett to find it…
So, Venom goes to the planning meeting and is disruptive &etc, blah blah, then the chief of police comes in and says someone’s claiming there’s a nuke in Manhattan and they’ll set it off unless Spider-Man shows up. So, followed by police helicopters, Venom is off to save the day. And then, on page 15 of this 24 page comic, Chris Bachalo takes art chores back up.
So that one Eleven, starts attacking Venom with what appears to be some kind of sonic scream, and Venom responds by biting her in half, and battle is joined. In a few pages, Venom dispatches all the various losers, seemingly leaving none but Doctor Everything alive.
Yes, Bachalo managed to turn in 7 pages of this issue.
Cut to the Mayor’s office, where JJJ is delivered an envelope, reacts strongly to its contents, and informs his lackey that he never saw it and was never here.
