This month, Barry Kitson is mostly doing breakdowns for Jesse Delpergang, and Dale Eaglesham draws only parts of 2 pages and all of 2 more pages. Also there’s 3 colorists. Things got weird. Also weird on the page:

This story is dumb. Reed is the smartest man on Earth and Johnny has somehow figured this out first? Ben reminds them of the alleged A-Plot, and Slott continues to drag out Reed telling them it’s been a really long time here since their last visit for no discernable reason, and they fight bad guys while Johnny pouts until that dopey Patronus guy shoots a dinosaur.

Ugh, Randy, no.

Despite all this, power and responsibility and all, so the heroes decide to stay, except Spider-Man and Torch waste literal days back home arguing some more, and then Ben straightens them out. So they can finally get on with this.

We cut back to the real world, where Walter Declun is improbably running against Martin Li for mayor, Dexter Bennett is told his paper is tanking and he should sell, JJJ has admitted he’s only trying to get Marla back to please his “backers” (LAAAAAAME), Flash is competing in the Special Olympics or something like it, May & Jay are now getting serious, and MJ tries to leave a message, but the machine fills up. Did this series really need a 2nd time jump in a year? Back in the alleged A-Plot, the heroes get dumb guy into the throne room as he asked, and he unsurprisingly reveals he’s the son of the princess from last issue and these guys’ heir from way back when, and thus, he’s their new king. Whatever. The heroes wrap up, Spidey and Torch still arguing, Reed tells Patronus to live long and prosper, and we can start to get out of this nonsense.

Spider-Man is 100% going to tell the Avengers, by the way. Like, immediately. Continuity is not a thing anymore.

Well, that’s nice. Ok, we get back, and Reed says it’s been 2 months. Peter just disappeared on his whole life for 2 months. So he’s obviously freaked out.

Another big twist I knew about already. Really taking the fun out of this sometimes. Fun? I dunnno, I guess. What does Mayor JJJ mean for our hero? Probably nothing good. What does “Spidey 24/7” mean for this title? Probably nothing good…
