Lookin mighty creepy, there, buddy. As we begin the end of this story, we get deja vu…

No, I didn’t just accidentally open USM 123, we’re just back to this. But that’s not what we care about, we care about this:

Top 3 Aunt May moments, all-time, any universe. What a firecracker, Ultimate Aunt May! Spider-Man punches Eddie hard enough to smash him through the porch railing and absolutely, 100% kill him, but this is comics, so he doesn’t even look all that hurt. I mean, his head should be a liquid. Peter is in a rage, but a word from May prevents him from doing anything he’ll regret. Instead, he swings away with Eddie. May then clutches her chest, telling herself she’s ok… and then some unseen suit come in to ask if she’s ok. Meanwhile, Spider-Man dumps Eddie on a roof while berating him, and we see Gwen has followed behind them.

Symbiote fight! And in a very broad sense, we’re back to the PS2 game, except it’s Gwen in the red goo instead of Peter. They keep at it until Venom absorbs significantly more of Gwen’s goo, turning into the big beastie on the cover. And I mean big.

Did Bendis just really like Kung Fu Panda or something?

What is it about Ultimate Venom that makes every fight an anticlimax? Every time! But we got a pretty important epilogue situation here…

Stark and Danvers have a showdown over Gwen, and in the end, Tony wins, saying the Parkers will look after her. Peter wants to know about this story’s prodigious amount of loose ends… Roxxon, Trask, Eddie Brock, Beetle, Silver Sable… but Carol isn’t in the mood to share after losing the fight over Gwen. Aunt May frets they’ll have to move again, but Tony Stark gives the convenient explanation that a guy like this gets what they want, they don’t bother you anymore, because they don’t want to get caught. Ok sure. While all this is going on, poor Gwen is sitting at that table with no one talking to her, and getting anxious.

Well, ok. Strangely, Ultimate Peter Parker will never fight Venom again. That’s it. Isn’t that weird? What a bizarre deal for the Ultimate version of the character. But, there you have it. A whole lot left unsaid. And what is Ultimatum? Nothin’ good, I’ll tell you that. But that’s for next USM block. We got one more thing to see in this one…
