Can Spider-Man save the day in these last 3 issues? You think they’d re-kill Aunt May after going to such absurd lengths to bring her back? This one starts with Spider-Man perched on a gravestone in the rain apologizing to Uncle Ben for what he has to do, whatever. Then:

Spidey and Felicia leave and MJ ominously gets her gun out. Whatever. Establishing shots of Riker’s establishing shots of Spidey and the Cat sneaking onto the island.

It’s so funny to me that comics spent 80 years going “we just don’t understand why girls don’t read comics” while objectifying women for no reason the entire time. Girls aren’t stupid, they see what you think of them. That Chris Claremont was able to write such complex women that X-Men developed a large female following DESPITE massive horndogs like Dave Cockrum and John Byrne drawing it is a real testament to his work.

Surprisingly nice moment for Felicia there. Quick look at some guards, including the one whose wife was poisoned by Norman, planning to assassinate him, then back to our heroes initiating their daring break in. While Felicia works some controls to manipulate cameras and allow Spider-Man to move freely through the facility, he finds his way to Osborn’s cell and opens it. Then those guards go to execute Osborn only to find he’s not home.

Stupid, indeed! He strips down to his regular suit and starts swimming, hoping Felicia was able to keep Osborn under control and planning to meet them where they planned, but then the water itself starts attacking him, so you know…

Too little, too late trying to justify Peter not seeing any of this coming.

“Tell him, Osborn. Tell him what you called us.”
“Oh, something really lame and predictable that sucks?”
“Yeah!”

That finger sure looks weird. So, Venom changed to a new design when it bonded with Angelo, and now that it’s bonded with Gargan, it’s… retained that design. Ok. Why? Who cares? Time for the kind of battle royale that always ruins things. If Spider-Man can survive “the Sinister Twelve” all at once, why should he ever worry about any of them individually again?
