Oh boy, this one has something very large bound in. Commenting that this didn’t happen so much anymore may have been a real monkey’s paw situation. This month rolls out with Curt on the phone to his sister, who is really being mean and saying he’s a terrible dad. I mean, sure, he tends to turn into an evil Lizard a lot, but we’ve not really seen any indication he’s a bad dad in the past.

Does Curt know Peter is Spider-Man?? Since when? This story keeps throwing me for a loop.

Curt says they yelled at each other, Richardson threw a punch, Curt ducked, and he knocked something over that caused a chain reaction. Then he turned into the Lizard and ran. He says he didn’t do anything and he needs Peter’s trust. Peter says they’re going for a walk someplace safe, and we see Curt has palmed and not taken those pills.

Ay yi yi, what on Earth is this? They seriously let this get published? “Some guy in the building gave me a key I totally shouldn’t have for extremely stupid reasons, and look, it’s perfect for storing a mad lizard!”

No idea what’s going on. The next 3 pages are dedicated to a security guard bringing JJJ & Robbie security camera footage of the scene from the end of last issue that “proves the Lizard is an actual person– like, he’s a mutant or somethin’.” EVERYONE KNOWS THAT IT WAS ON THE NEWS HE WENT TO TRIAL HE WENT TO JAIL DO SOME RESEARCH. Ugh. Is this story going to end with Curt’s secret which is not a secret being revealed to the world? Jonah then screws that guy over (Sheesh!), with Robbie not putting up a fight (SHEESH!) and they decide they need to figure out who the Lizard is. They know. Everyone knows. I’m so tired. Quick page of Peter & MJ buying some supplies for Curt and Peter doubting his story. Then it’s tomorrow and Spider-Man has gone to see his new best friend, Detective Garrett. Garrett’s really pulling ahead of Lamont lately. Spider-Man’s come to tell Garrett a bunch of lies and half-truths about what happened, and to imply Richardson burned his place down on purpose for the insurance money? Where is THIS coming from???

Curt gets so agitated he naturally becomes the Lizard, collapses, and then wakes up fighting.

Kinda hard to be sure with Scott’s extreme art style, but that looks more like a lizard-man than a Lizard to me. They seem to just be making Curt a full-on villain out of nowhere in this. I don’t understand.
