As is often the case, we rejoin the story the moment the previous issue ended.

Suddenly, the baddies’ van is violently flipped on its side. As they get themselves together, the lead lady kicks her way out the back looking for Logan, but finds no one there. She spots the far away shape of Spider-Man swinging Wolverine away (With a web attached to absolutely nothing, it must be noted), sees the locals coming out to stare, and gives the order to leave. But we leave them to find Logan back at the diner he got shot up in, where the proprietor is pretty rattled to see him again.

This guy says he called the FBI and they didn’t know what he was talking about and didn’t care. Logan sends him on his way. Spider-Man does his usual motormouth before getting around to asking how these people are tracking Logan, who says they have his Weapon X file. Spider-Man refuses to leave, and asks why Logan doesn’t call the X-Men, learning he’s not on the team anymore. Don’t ask me, I bailed on this book 23 issues ago, I was almost as confused as Peter for this. Anyway, he leads Spider-Man off to…

Black Widow’s house. The next 2 pages are a rather insane 48-panel grid, wherein we learn Logan and Natasha have a romantic history in the Ultimate universe, he doesn’t approve of the Ultimates, she doesn’t approve of the X-Men, and neither she nor Nick Fury know who’s after Logan.

Legit funny. The most memorable page of this story to me.

Well, that’s an unusual experience! Bendis really loved throwing absolutely insane physical damage at Wolverine, just because he could survive it. Ultimate Wolverine Team-Up continues next post…
