Kitty’s bringing out the big guns!

People may have worried they wouldn’t get the natural acting they were used to from Bagley, but Immonen shows he’s got the goods in a quiet page like this. But it won’t stay quiet for long.

What indeed? At the Triskelion, Peter Parker is in a holding cell still, and Carol Danvers has come to talk to him. Like everyone seems to, he demands to see Nick Fury, but that’s not an option.

Elsewhere, Norman Osborn is loving seeing Spider-Man arrested on TV, as his sniveling lawyer keeps talking about how he’s going to jail. And then the lawyer says he refuses to help him anymore, and Norman, unsurprisingly, threatens to kill him. But we cut back to Carol Danvers quizzing Peter. About his deal with Fury, about just his deal, about his deal with Norman Osborn. She is woefully informed of all the shady business that’s been going on in this book for 114 issues.

Also, it’s nice Peter doesn’t look like he cuts his own hair in the dark anymore. I’ll never understand what Bagley was up to there.

Can’t believe Bendis named Osborn and Kingpin’s scummy lawyer after one of Jack Kirby’s best collaborators.

I really only posted this spread because “nuny-noonooliner” made me laugh. I really miss Spider-Man making me laugh. It happens so rarely in ASM anymore, but Bendis can be counted on to make it funny. As SHIELD and Spidey and Kitty swing into action, Norman is now at the home of his former accountant, threatening to kill his family in front of him if he doesn’t produce Osborn’s money. Even if he had it, what, does he think it’s in a mattress? I guess he’s just crazy and all. He’s goblin-ing up to do violence to innocent people when the laser beams start ripping through the wall, and then Spider-Man comes in behind them. He dances with the Green Goblin as Kitty gets the civilians to safety, but Spidey notes the Goblin isn’t even noticing his punches, and the nuny-noonooliners the SHIELD goons shot him with didn’t do anything.

Well, that doesn’t seem like a good time. I wonder how Kitty’s new mask works. Especially as something she made herself, no fancy Xavier tech or anything to let her see through it. Comics!
