MKSM 14

Yeah, man, we’re really doing this. For some reason. Well, we open on Absorbing Man getting one of his targets, and also employing some kind of liquid metal morphing powers he does not have, to my knowledge, then being chided by his handler for doing all these hits the same every time. And then we’re abruptly back to Spider-Man having been stabbed, no segue, no flow at all, just a splash page that’s mostly about Spider-Woman’s butt instead of the stabbing…

..which now seems to have become a “cutting.” Tan can’t even be bothered to put the spider on Spider-Man’s back. Wildly out of character Captain America. Everyone just batting 1000. Iron Man breaks it up, Wolverine taunts Spider-Man about being a loser again, so he gets loose and attacks some more, then passes out.

This sucks, top to bottom. Later, Peter is all depressed, and goes to bed early. May and MJ are unable to cheer him up, and he also refuses to explain to MJ how he’s got a bloody bandage on his chest. So… was he stabbed or “just cut” or what? This comic sucks!

Well, that’s sure creepy. Soon, Crusher is killing another mob guy, who has a whole lot of protection due to what’s happened around town, and Peter & Ethan are walking down the street when one of the people Crusher is fighting goes out a window. Peter tries to give Ethan the slip, and Ethan picks up on that. But they split up, anyway, and Peter only gets into half his suit because he’s in a hurry to save the guy hanging off the window sill. But as he approaches, Crusher knocks the guy loose. And then…

Between “Mr. Absorbing Squarepants” (I guess… absorbing like a sponge?) and Spider-Man leaping off that window only to come right back, you guessed it, this page sucks. Crusher’s handler throws water on him so he can get loose, but she didn’t warn him and he just falls out the window as a puddle. Then Spider-Man has gotten out of his jeans and comes back. She tried to pretend she was just an innocent bystander, but his Spider Sense tells her he’s lying, which it cannot do, and he tells her this, which he should not do. So she throws some ninja stars at him, and then Crusher comes back, having climbs up the outside of the building.

I really hate this comic. I am an idiot for buying it.

People drawing a guy getting hit and rolling the wrong way never fails to annoy me, and I was already there with this one.

Pay him a visit where, exactly? At Avengers Tower? Did Peter rush out and get a new ID with the address he doesn’t even want to live at on it? He’s been talking about wanting to make money to move out this whole story so far. I really regret buying these comics.
