Last week, I couldn’t remember what the Band Street Girls wanted. Turns out, I didn’t say! I do know what they want, though, now. Maybe you’ll find out one day…

I enjoyed getting to do this first ever scene with these two away from the group. Ya know, the thing to do for relationships in general, but teenage relationships especially, it seems like, is drama. The thing where they fight all the time and everyone but them knows they’re gonna end up together and then at some point, they do. I actually started out with that. My first script had some one yelling “Just kiss already!” at them. But it’s so cliche. Sooooo cliche. And I guess I just decided it would be more unique, if less dramatic, to have Court & Wei already together, and actually seem like they like each other. Some rare people really do find a perfect match. Maybe not in high school, but it’s fiction, after all. I can always pair up some of the others later if I want to explore that aspect of a relationship. Will they always be perfectly in sync? I don’t know. But me, personally, I kind of like writing people who trust and get each other as opposed to some contrived “will they or won’t they” thing. That’s those famous instincts that have made sure this comic is read by a massive audience of 11 people, I guess.

This page ends in the middle of a sentence because it amused me to reference this:

I am amused by strange things.
