Well, gee whiz, I guess he’s alive. What a shock. What a miracle. To open, Iron Man is flying around looking for Peter. Back home, what happened is being debated.

So her theory is his personality tore itself out of his skin, got it. Meanwhile, in his stupid cocoon… I guess I would be remiss if I didn’t mention this is his second, cocoon, after the Dematties one, a story somehow even stupider than that one… in his stupid cocoon, Peter Parker tells himself to wake up repeatedly, and then he does, in some kind of ancient looking forest. He is wearing a shirt and pants in this vision, which just seems funny to me. He arrived here not just nude, but skinned. Anyway.

Ok, fine. Peter keeps watching his past happen with this big spider involved, including it eating Uncle Ben rather than his more traditional demise.

I assure you that is not my question.

Maybe he’s a fool, but he didn’t buy all 12 issues of this on purpose after the fact, so I can think of at least one person stupider than he is. Blah blah blah, he treated his gifts like a toy, blah blah blah, he never asked what happens when you merge the man with the spider, over flashbacks of him killing and eating Morlun. Good thing to have on Spider-Man’s resume forever. “Killed a guy with my big wrist blades and ate him.” The Spider-Man gets ‘round to asking what will come out of the cocoon, and why.

He said the thing! Does this mean Peter’s ulcer is gone? Every wound healed, every pain gone! Never forget Peter’s ulcer. Anyway, he “merges with the spider” or whatever, falls bloody out of his cocoon, stumbles into the river, and emerges his regular self.

Where’d he get the clothes? Never say never, buddy!

That’s… that’s the end. That’s the end! This story started in part 5 and ended in part 9 of a 12 part event! How!? Why!? This is so awful!!
