Alright so Kaine just killed Ben Reilly\u2019s one true love and left him to mourn her in this weird pile of mannequins.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You can tell he\u2019s Peter Parker by the way he threatens to kill an enemy and then gives up instantly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

WHAT??? I am\u2026 speechless. This is monumentally silly. I mean, I guess I\u2019m glad they didn\u2019t fridge Janine just because it\u2019s such a tired and awful cliche already back in \u201896, let alone now, but\u2026 This is stupid, man. Anyway, Kaine is now nude and looking at himself in a mirror somewhere, probably The Jackal\u2019s lab, given the machinery around, but the full length mirror partially covered by a sheet feels out of place. Internal monologuing about how he\u2019s a failed clone and no one could understand his suffering.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Whatever, weirdo. Kaine puts his tights back on and says Ben will learn what it\u2019s like to be Kaine before they die together, and then goes to check on his captive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Yeesh. Also, what about Janine would remind him of older, tough-as-nails, blonde cop Louise? The fact they\u2019re both female? That\u2019s about all they have in common! Maybe that\u2019s all it takes when you\u2019re a raging lunatic. Ben finds his way to the lab and Kaine welcomes him. He says Janine is safe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

I know Kaine is \u201cdegenerated\u201d or whatever, but SOME resemblance between 2 Peter Parkers would be nice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Ben finally gets mad enough to start fighting back as Kaine keeps on going with his weird internal monologue. He also catches Ben\u2019s hand and burns it with his \u201cmark,\u201d and the pain gives Kaine the upper hand. He knocks Ben out. Later, Ben wakes up a little, enough to hear Kaine rambling about injecting him with something that will do to him what the degeneration has done to Kaine, then passes back out. When he wakes up, they\u2019re at Aunt May\u2019s house. Pete & MJ live there right now, but they\u2019re not home, so Kaine drags the still mostly immobile Ben into Peter\u2019s childhood bedroom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ben wakes up in his apartment, and fine. He finds the needle Kaine used to inject an antidote into him on the floor. Kaine\u2019s \u201cplan\u201d makes less sense with every page. Ben also finds Janine asleep in his bed and waking up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s not, tho. As they prepare to flee the city, the run outside and find the building surrounded by cops.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ok! I assume next issue Kaine will bust Janine out of jail and buy her a dog and then kill it or something. The way they keep being like \u201cThe worst has happened!\u201d \u201cJust kidding!\u201d \u201cNOW the worst has happened!\u201d \u201cJust kidding!\u201d This book is really weird.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
