This issue, before we get back to last issue’s cliffhanger, we check in on Kingpin, as his lackey tells him Elektra was assigned to “the tablet situation.” He doesn’t even know who she is, and has to be told she’s a young new recruit eager to prove herself. An unusually vulnerable Wilson says this has to be resolved tonight. One can assume we know why. Then it’s back to the fight, as Spidey and BC scatter and Spider-Man complains about this ninja stars tearing his suit while Elektra goes for Black Cat.

Ultimate Spider-Man not knowing who to help in a fight is an weirdly common scenario.

That’s pretty funny. Black Cat yells at Elektra to tell her master that she is not her father as she bats one of Elektra’s sais away. Elektra then kicks her right into Spider-Man, who tries to web Elektra, but misses with both barrels. Then he tries a different route, webbing Felicia to the roof and asking Elektra what it would take to make her go away, or just explain what she’s here for in the first place.

Our man manages to right himself in midair, shoot some desperate webs, accidentally launch himself like a catapult, barely regain control and then smash into the side of a building. Not the most heroic recovery, but at least he’s not dead.

This is really some peak USM internal monologue. I just love the stream-of-consciousness of it, it feels really natural. But when he gets back up there, both women are gone, and he’s in no shape to go looking for them.

Uh-oh.

Uh-oh! Peter’s in for it now. And where’s MJ?
