It seems these covers do not reflect what’s going on in these comics. Look at that garbage Eiffel Tower. Just a stock Photoshop filter over a photo. This month, Peter’s wandering around the Osborn Hiding-In-France residence, thinking how weird it is to be there.

Come on, guys. The 60s Marvel material had been reprinted in a variety of formats, easily accessible at this point, why do they continue to screw up stuff like this? Peter never met any Osborn before college. Heck of a job on those backgrounds, tho.

Say, do the twins have a French accent? Shouldn’t they? I bet they don’t.

Man, Eaton’s even doing the Tommy Lee Jones thing. Gross, but I get it. Sarah flashes back to Norman conditioning her to ignore her emotions and want to kill Peter Parker, but then says they should have a picnic and see the city.

Boy, this is not shaping up to be a fun read. MJ is freaking out at Aunt May, portrayed as “worried she’s losing him” to a teenage lunatic who looks like Gwen. She ignores every reasonable thing May tells her and decides to go to Paris. I do not like this at all. This a very lame take on MJ. Peter & Sarah are at a cafe, having a nice time… sort of? Peter seems out of his element, there is some Komedy Business with him not knowing a cool coffee to order and falling out of his chair. This comic is really weird. Also some guys is spying on them, telling someone on the phone this American won’t be any problem.

Noooo idea what’s up with this. Sarah says that Paris welcomes everyone (oh un mot?) and everyone has a secret in captions over MJ getting a taxi to the airport, a mystery man reading the paper, Norman in prison, and Peter looking in the window if a costume shop. Sarah lures Peter down into the subway, then says someone keeps trying to call her and she wants to go back up to see who it is.

People running in fear from a fight finally get Peter’s interest, and he arrives to see Sarah having beaten up most of those dudes before grabbing her and webbing them out of there. Soon they’re in a train car, Sarah lying and trying to cover up what’s going on, Peter not biting. Also:

Having fun. She takes Peter to a cemetery to have a picnic, saying Abelard and Heloise are buried there. He doesn’t know who that is. Me, either!

I’ll say this for this story: It’s half over, and I think that’s very cool of it.
