This month opens with some guys watching the same news story Peter was watching at last issue’s end.

Exposition! That last bit is a somewhat predictable way to segue to Peter getting in trouble for being asleep in class. He is jolted awake by his teacher, who gives him Saturday detention. Then he’s sulking about that when MJ says they really shouldn’t be talking, because her dad was on the phone with private schools this morning. Peter’s not having that, in his usual mode, and she says he doesn’t know what it’s like having a father, which is… ouch!

Ouch again! These kids sure live for the drama. Later, Peter is at work, and Robbie asks him to put some personal ads on the website. He discovers an envelope full of money, a lot of money, for a half-page ad. It’s “The Cat” suggesting she and “The Spider” should get to know each other better. Robbie says to give the money to his assistant and run it. Meanwhile, the sweaty guy on the hook for the tablet goes to meet his connection.

I wonder if this guy’s supposed to look like comics legend Archie Goodwin, ‘cuz he kinda does. Anyway, Ultimate Elektra. Last we saw her, she was just regular Elektra in the Ultimate universe, but she has since starred in the bland and forgettable Ultimate Daredevil and Elektra 4-issue miniseries, where Salvador LaRocca dressed her like this. Later, at exactly 10:22pm, an upset Peter tries to call MJ, but her dad answers, so he just hangs up. Then he thinks about that sexy cat lady he met and thinks he should go meet her to tell her stealing is wrong. He continues trying to justify his behavior to himself as he swings to the meeting spot, telling himself it’s a trap and he’s insulted, until…

That is an insanely thin Felicia in the 2nd-to-last panel, sheesh.

Well, that’s not very romantic.

And it’s fightin’ time. Being a hormonal teenage boy in the middle of this particular fracas seems like it would be pretty different from his usual!
