This one is from the big cache of 77 MTUs won for $44 in one of the most insane things I\u2019ve done on eBay. Most of those were in great shape, but a couple were pretty ragged, like this one. And we are STILL tumbling through time with Spider-Man. This is part 6! This is unheard of for its time. Soooo, Deathlok. Well, I dunno, why explain, I\u2019m sure he will. Spidey is now in Deathlok\u2019s future, which is closer to the present than Killraven\u2019s future. Our man is no less confused, though, as he sees Deathlok come around a corner right on page one.

Deathlok calling the AI that lives in his head \u2018Puter has always and will always make me make a stank face. It just sounds unnatural, man, I dunno. Spidey sees Deathlok is about to gun down a bunch of kids and attacks him, but the kids turn out to be some kinda brainwashed or mesmerized or something and begin coming toward them and chanting. Spidey is really slow on the uptake as the mob of chanting youths gets more and more angry and moves toward them.

For all Deathlok\u2019s panic, the kids just shoot a zap that both heroes easily dodge. Spidey starts fighting as Deathlok zaps one of the kids, choosing not to use a more powerful AoE attack that would\u2019ve also hurt Spider-Man. The mob flees, leaving the one that got shot and the one Spidey knocked out behind. Deahtlok gives a surprisingly brief recap of his deal, so brief it doesn\u2019t really do the job. He was a soldier named Luther Manning who got killed and then in the near future of 1985, got turned into this zombie cyborg form to be used as part of an army by the bad guy who\u2019s taken over with his evil computers and whatnot. But Deathlok\u2019s mind and memories returned and he rebelled, and now he fights the dystopian overlords of the grim world of\u2026

Deathlok and Spider-Man take their unconscious mutant prisoner and leave, but a couple of snipers are waiting for them. Instead of our heroes, though, they end up shooting the mutant kid, which sends Spider-Man into a rage. He comes right at them, but they\u2019re unable to hit him due to his many powers, and then\u2026
<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The chanting mob is now being led by a guy in a very supervillain-y outfit. Spidey and Deathlok dive down into them, and find that once they\u2019re split up, they\u2019re easier to fight. But Deathlok reminds Spidey they\u2019re still cannibals.

Yes. Impossibly, this nonsense not only isn\u2019t over, but will now divert to another series entirely. This issue was as unsatisfying as the last. These weird futures take too long to explain, and then not much of note can happen outside their own comics, so not much does. But I went ahead and got MTO 17. I\u2019m 6 issues deep on a story that never ends, how could I not? So come back for that next time. But hey, this issue has no Marvel Value Stamp. Not that it\u2019s missing, it wasn\u2019t there. Could this be the end of that promotion? It sure went on for a long time. I guess we\u2019ll see.
