Well, that looks painful. We pick up where we left off last time, with Spider-Man being attacked by an angry financial crisis mob.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Why Dexter Bennett? Other than it suiting the comic? There’s plenty of rich people in New York, and I assume most of them are richer than Bennett. Ok, the DB(!!) got a bailout (improbably), but even so. Bennett ain’t bankin’ it like other guys you could mention, but don’t want to. I’m just saying.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meanwhile, Electro ran off because he powers were going out again, and he calls the Thinker to beg for help, which he does not receive. Peter Parker shows up to Electro’s mob to argue with them about whether Spider-Man is cool or not, and secondarily, I guess, to take some pictures. And Dexter Bennett takes a bath. And his lights go out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Why does Dexter Bennett consistently look like Lloyd Kaufman in this storyline?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While Lloyd is negotiating, a sleep deprived Peter Parker is building an Electro Tracer Tracker. That is, he’s making a thing based on his old tracer trackers to track power surges. And he almost blows up the apartment testing it. And, back at the Thinker’s lair, Electro has delivered the money he needs. Which… seems hard for Bennett to get, in cash, at night, from his bathtub, but what do I know?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Spidey looking like he’s put on a spare tire there in panel one. This is followed by a one-page gag of Aunt May and Jay Jameson drop by the apartment, back from their honeymoon, trying to see Peter, and get yelled at by a still-very-angry Michele. And while that’s happening, the Thinker activates the doohickey that’s gonna power up Electro. Which, naturally, pings Spider-Man’s own doohickey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Spidey being so mean to the Thinker is really funny. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Very old timey dialogue in that last panel. The newly overpowered Electro makes quick work of our hero as Thinkie and his assistant hightail it. Annie stops long enough to say she’s sorry to Spider-Man’s seemingly dead form on the ground. Very thoughtful. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
