Is this the worst cover of 2007? It is in the conversation! Good grief. Spider-Man is trying to use his nebulous new Spider Sense to locate Ero and Flash as a stupid cop slowly advances on him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Not sure what the cop guy thought was gonna happen there. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Is that newspaper headline meant to reference the Lobo Brothers story? I don\u2019t think Betty did any foiling, but I may have forgotten. After making an absolutely dreadful Black Eyed Peas joke at that cop, Spider-Man takes his shotgun and breaks it in half while spending 2 pages giving a speech about how he should\u2019ve given up the superhero game years ago and it wouldn\u2019t have ruined his family\u2019s life, and how Cap gave up and now he\u2019s dead. Then he leaves, and some guy has filmed the whole thing. Meanwhile, Ero has Flash in a big spider web (In that church, as Peter surmised), and is about to\u2026 do whatever she\u2019s going to do. Impregnate him? Eat him? Both?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She said something like \u201cEverything you are, I am not, and everything you are not, I am\u201d in what little explanation she gave for herself being \u201cthe Other\u201d in MKSM 22<\/a>. What\u2019s any of this have do to with that? She then has one of her pain attacks or whatever, and then reaches into her guts and pulls out a big egg sac.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I feel 100% certainty this is not where \u201cthe Other\u201d was going when introduced. I think it would\u2019ve been better as an unresolved plot thread left hanging than\u2026 this\u2026 Well, obviously, Spider-Man shows up and webs the egg sac out of her hands. So she attacks, producing her stupid stingers, and then he does his own, and they have a very stupid looking giant toothpick fight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Objection, your honor, JJJ never said anything bad about Captain America until the Avengers took in Spider-Man. But the confirmation that Robbie knew is\u2026 nice-ish. Not exactly delivered in the way I\u2019d prefer, but at least it\u2019s there. But anyway. Stupid looking giant toothpick fight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Then how was SHE able to use them against regular people, your honor? Fight fight fight, he stabs her, but she\u2019s made of spiders, so that doesn\u2019t do much, she stabs him, he gets poisoned and incapacitated. She says if her eggs were born out of Flash, it would produce thousands of young, while Spider-Man will only produce hundreds, no explanation offered, but decides hundreds are enough and she never should\u2019ve involved Flash. DUH. She also mentions, you know, the spiders eating their way out thing that would ensure Spider-Man\u2019s death. Terrible plan, stupid character, stupid storyline. She\u2019s about to jam her eggs down his throat. But this is the last page cliffhanger.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Oh, come on. You have two whole issues left, and one of the guys writing one of the comics no one reads doesn\u2019t get to make that drastic a change right before a major personnel and status quo shift. Less tension in this than in \u201cwill Spider-Man get eaten alive by baby spiders?\u201d Then again, he\u2019s already died twice recently, what\u2019s one more?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
